Instagram Fun Twin Nails

In response to a post I put up on instagram for Mani Swaps or Twin nails here is the first #bestietwinnails post
I got together with the lovely and amazingly talented Tracie ig @mentalmoma and we decided to do a Scaled Gradient inspired by @simplynailogical as we had both been wanting to try out this technique and design. We chose our own colours and used a single chevron guide.
Here is Tracies design

image

I absolutely adore the colours she chose for the gradient and so beautifully blended.
Here is mine

image

I chose to use holographic polishes and love how they blended.
But Tracie being Tracie decided she wanted to add something to make them stand out and I’m so glad we did

image

image

As you can see we added some leopard print and i love how it turned out. Here are both pictures together

Thank you to Tracie doing this with me and the laughs we had along the way. Can’t wait for our Mani Swap hun

Instagram Mani Swap Fun no2

If you read my last post you will know i am doing some mani swaps and twin nails.
Today’s post is my #maniswap with ig @emmaelizabethxxx
Emma chose to recreate my peach and purple roses.
Below is my original mani.

And here is Emmas recreation.

image

I think she has done a brilliant job. The colours and detail are so accurate. She changed the placement slightly to fit better with her nail shape and i love it.

I chose to do Emmas rose mani and below is her original.

And here is my recreation of her mani

image

Here below are all 4 pictures together. On the left are the originals and on the right are the re reactions

I thoroughly enjoyed recreating and working with Emma and she has done an awesome recreation.

Instagram Fun with Mani Swaps

I recently put a post on instagram asking for anyone who wanted to do mani swaps or twin nails with me. I was overwhelmed with the response.
So i will be doing some regular posts on how these turned out.
First is my #maniswap with ig @brendas_nail_art_adventures
Brenda decided to recreate a recent mani I had done of dream catchers and feathers. Below is my original.

image

Below is Brendas recreation.

image

She has done such an amazing job recreating my mani, even down to the colours.
I chose to recreate her tropical sunset and palm trees mani and below is her original

image

Here below is my recreation. I loved doing this as my two fav types of nail art are gradients with black acrylic detailing

image

Here are all 4 pics together. The originals on the left and recreations on the right.

This was my first time doing a mani swap and it was great fun and I thank Brenda for joining me with this and doing such a wonderful mani xx

Completed the Nail Art Challenge April on Instagram

Hi everyone.
Sorry I haven’t posted for a while but things have been abit hectic, but I am glad to say it’s all settled down.
Today I have all the nail art i have done for the April challenge on Instagram. I completed every challenge except 2 of them but in my defence I was also doing an Autism Awareness Challenge aswell.
Here is the challenge list.

image

So first was Blue Puzzle (for autism)

image

I enjoyed this one and was all done in nail polish instead of acrylic paint.

Next was Eggs.

image

Kept with pastel colours with a custom indie holo base colour.

The next 2 challenges I combined into 1 Baby Chicken and Bunny.

image

Not completely happy with these as I think the chicks and bunny’s look abit mad lol but I can only get better. Another one for the “I must practise more” list.

The next one was Easter.

image

This one had me abit lost for ideas to start with as a lot of the challenges covered things to do with easter but once I thought of this it went really well.

Earth Day was one of the challenges I couldn’t find time to do.

Next one was Flowers.

image

I really enjoyed this one as I love doing the more detailed art with acrylic paint.

Lastly was Moon and this was the other challenge I could not get around to doing

Here they all are …….

image

Hope you enjoyed this and I will be back soon with some more varied nail art as I am not taking part in a May challenge.
See you soon

Collaboration for Autism on instagram Roar for Autism

The lovely @amcpolish on instagram decided to do a collaboration called #roarforautismawareness where those who decided to contribute did a blue mani with animal print. Such an amazing idea to raise awareness for this very much misunderstood disorder. Of course I had to contribute a design. We are not to post our contribution design until after the collaboration picture has been posted so I created my design and emailed it off.

image

Then excitedly waited to see the completed collaboration.
This was my design done on my cinderella (dominant) hand.

image

Kept it simple with a vertical gradient of 2 no name blues topped with CG Fairy Dust and blue acrylic for the leopard print.
And here is the completed collaboration picture.

Can you find mine…..let me know.

Autism Awareness Nail Art Challenge

April as some of you may know is Autism Awareness Month. Many people do many different things to try and raise awareness for this much misunderstood disorder.
As I am part of the wonderful nail community I found a challenge specifically for this.

image

image

I am quite proud of myself that I managed to do all of the challenges although sometimes I did combine 2 into 1.
Blue Flowers

image

I really love how these turned out. I used a no name nude base and everything else was done with acrylic paints.

Rainbows

image

So bright and colourful with puzzle shaped clouds. Base of Sinful Colours Cinderella and the rest done with acrylic paints.

Blue Gradient / Ombre

image

Simple gradient using Sinful Colours Snow me White and Colour Club Endless Summer with random glitter placement.  How hard is it to do the random placement without it looking neat ?

Puzzle Pieces

image

As you can probably tell from the next picture I prepared this in advance colours is ed are on the net picture description and used acrylic paint to do the puzzle pieces.

Ruffian

image

Not something I have done before and deffinately need practice. I used Models Own Duck from the Speckled Eggs Collection and Colour Club Halo Hues Blue Heaven. Accent nails I also added China Glaze For Audrey and Colour Club Endless Summer.

Awareness Ribbon

image

Used a base of Freckles Polush Blue Lagoon and the rest was done with acrylic paint. I didn’t feel competent enough to try the ribbons with the puzzle pieces pattern on them so did them separately.

Blue Fishtail and Handprint (2 challenges combined)

image

Really not happy with how my fishtail braid turned out as had some trouble with the opacity of one of the polishes but do want to do more of these. I followed a great tutorial from @emilynailsxo on instagram http://instagram.com/emilynailsxo and you can find her awesome blog here http://nailsxo.com. I love how braids look so will deffinately keep practicing using this tutorial. Guess you know what they say “practice makes perfect”. Quite happy with the hand prints although you can’t see them all that well.

Plastic / Saran Wrap

image

image

A technique I have wanted to try but hadn’t got round to it. So was really happy being able to do this and loved the way it came out so much that I even did my cinderella (dominant) hand aswell. CC Blue Heaven, Endless Summer and CG For Audrey. So happy with this. Added studs from Ebay on my swatch hand in dark and light blue.

I really enjoyed doing this challenge to raise awareness for Autism as it is a cause very close to my heart as my 3 yr old granddaughter Bella has this disorder so I see and hear the negative and ignorant comments and reactions first hand.
Please take abit of time to read about Autism and make this disorder more understood in our word.
Thank you
Lisa
