Review of Loki’s Nail Aprons from Lokislacquer

I was very kindly sent a pack of nail vinyls from Lokislacquer which incorperates Loki’s Nail Vinyls to review….
We are always looking for great things to help us with our nail art whether it’s techniques or aids to improve a design or anything to make things easier and quicker for us. This is why I was so pleased to be able to try some of these vinyls out from Loki’s Nail Vinyls
If any of you know me then you will know my love of gradients even though I make a wonderful mess. So the first item I will review for you is Loki’s Nail Aprons from Tara at Lokislacquer
Here they are ….This is the smaller size but there are two sizes to fit all size nails.

image

These are in 2 parts so can be adjusted to fit snugly round your nail and the vinyl is very good quality so it sticks to your nail/finger extremely well. They were so simple and easy to apply. I started with 2 coats of white polish and applied my nail aprons.

image

image

Once in place you are all set to create as much mess as you like without any worry of excessive clean up.
Once you are happy with your design/colour then you can remove the apron. I re stuck them onto the sheet as they can be used more than once.

image

image

As you can see there is minimal clean up …..you can’t ask for better than that can you ?????
Once you’ve cleaned up then your ready to finish your design.
I used some transparent nail stickers over fine glitter polish and finished off with top coat. Here is my finished design.

image

My thoughts
These are great to have as a permanent addition to your nail art accessories. Clean up was a dream and so speeded up the whole process. Easy to apply and reuse so they last a lot longer than you think.
It states that they can be used up to 10 times but I found after about 4 nails they were becoming less sticky but I was in a warm room and my fingers were exceptionally warm so in my opinion that did not help but even to be able to reuse 1 apron a few times is great in itself.
Do I recommend these ….oh yes deffinately.

Continuing with my recent Twin and Mani Swap series …
Today I have another #bestietwinnails post for you that I did with the lovely Kim ig @kimmarieex.

Here is the original design that we based our nails on.

image

Here is my recreation. I had some trouble getting the design as I wanted with the stripping tape as my nails are a different shape.

image

Here is Kim’s recreation. I think she has done an amazing mani and got the pattern perfectly.

Here are both pictures together

Instagram Fun Twin Nails

In response to a post I put up on instagram for Mani Swaps or Twin nails here is the first #bestietwinnails post
I got together with the lovely and amazingly talented Tracie ig @mentalmoma and we decided to do a Scaled Gradient inspired by @simplynailogical as we had both been wanting to try out this technique and design. We chose our own colours and used a single chevron guide.
Here is Tracies design

image

I absolutely adore the colours she chose for the gradient and so beautifully blended.
Here is mine

image

I chose to use holographic polishes and love how they blended.
But Tracie being Tracie decided she wanted to add something to make them stand out and I’m so glad we did

image

image

As you can see we added some leopard print and i love how it turned out. Here are both pictures together
image

Thank you to Tracie doing this with me and the laughs we had along the way. Can’t wait for our Mani Swap hun

Instagram Fun with Mani Swaps

I recently put a post on instagram asking for anyone who wanted to do mani swaps or twin nails with me. I was overwhelmed with the response.

Brenda decided to recreate a recent mani I had done of dream catchers and feathers. Below is my original.

Completed the Nail Art Challenge April on Instagram

Hi everyone.
Sorry I haven’t posted for a while but things have been abit hectic, but I am glad to say it’s all settled down.
Today I have all the nail art i have done for the April challenge on Instagram. I completed every challenge except 2 of them but in my defence I was also doing an Autism Awareness Challenge aswell.
Here is the challenge list.

image

So first was Blue Puzzle (for autism)

image

I enjoyed this one and was all done in nail polish instead of acrylic paint.

Next was Eggs.

image

Kept with pastel colours with a custom indie holo base colour.

The next 2 challenges I combined into 1 Baby Chicken and Bunny.

image

Not completely happy with these as I think the chicks and bunny’s look abit mad lol but I can only get better. Another one for the “I must practise more” list.

The next one was Easter.

image

This one had me abit lost for ideas to start with as a lot of the challenges covered things to do with easter but once I thought of this it went really well.

Earth Day was one of the challenges I couldn’t find time to do.

Next one was Flowers.

image

I really enjoyed this one as I love doing the more detailed art with acrylic paint.

Lastly was Moon and this was the other challenge I could not get around to doing

Here they all are …….

image

Hope you enjoyed this and I will be back soon with some more varied nail art as I am not taking part in a May challenge.
See you soon
